Greetings,
We’ve taken our first furlough day and already
the Governor has announced huge new deficits for next year. If
this year’s furloughs and cut-backs are a threat to the
quality of state services, just imagine what impact the new
projected deficits will have.
Isn’t it time we found new solutions to
the budget crisis that do not cut state employees and threaten
public services?
Help Us
Save State Jobs and Protect the
Quality of Public Services
MPEC and AFT Healthcare-Maryland have developed an
action plan to show the governor where he can achieve savings
without hurting the services that Marylanders need now more than
ever.
Support our union’s plan for solving the budget
crisis and preserving the quality services that state employees
provide every day.

for
Compensation

Over 400 state employees have signed the
union’s petition. We need your help to reach our goal of
3,000 signatures by December 1, 2009.
Yes, the furlough days are a reality
this year, but shouldn’t you be compensated for this loss
of income when the economy
recovers?
Do you agree that state employees should be
compensated for these furlough days when state revenues improve?
Hundreds of state employees say
“Yes!”
Both MPEC and AFT-Healthcare Maryland are negotiating
a proposal to compensate state employees, but we need your
support.
Now, more than ever, it is important that employees
stand together and call on the governor to agree to fair
compensation for our sacrifices.
Join MPEC and AFT
Healthcare-Maryland’s effort to win compensation for the
furloughs and pay cuts by signing our
petition.
