Greetings,
What happens if I do not
submit a monthly bid?
As we approach
implementation of PBS on September 5th it is time to
address this important topic. In accordance with our contract
language, Section 10 K, “If no standing bid exists, the
Flight Attendant will be assigned a reserve
line.” Please
note that the ClassBid term for standing bid is default bid.
Over the last year there
have been twelve mock bids in which everyone has had an
opportunity to participate and learn the ClassBid program. PBS trainers have been
available throughout this process to help anyone needing
assistance in entering their bid(s). While those on leave did not receive a line
award on the latter mock bids, everyone has had multiple
opportunities to submit their bid(s).
With PBS our bidding
timeline changes - bids open on or before 9am on the
5th of every month and close at 9am local domicile
time on the 10th of every month. Our first live PBS
bid opens on September 5th and closes on
September 10th, 2008 at 0900 local domicile time. Don’t be caught
without a bid entered!
PBS trainers will be available again starting September
5th, 2008 to assist you in entering your bid(s).
Note:
If you would prefer a reserve line rather than
potentially being assigned undesired pairings or dates, you must
put “Award Line Reserve” before the program reaches
the final “Award Pairings” preference in your
lineholder bid. To
add “Award Line Reserve” to your regular or regular
default lineholder bid, click on the Award Line tab on the
“Add bid preference” window. By clicking the
“Add” button you will add this preference .... now
saying you would prefer reserve over any pairings assigned by
the computer at “Award Pairings”. This also prevents the
program from going into Denial Mode and potentially forcing
undesired pairings or dates on your line when you would have
rather sit reserve.
