We each received information via First Class in early November regarding a training focused on security and privacy.  The communication was unclear with regard to the completion requirement/ deadline.  We have been told there is additional communication forthcoming and it will emphasize a deadline for the completion of the on-line security and privacy training of December 31, 2008.

There is no dispute regarding management’s ability to require us to complete this training and we encourage each of to do so as soon as practicable and in compliance with the December 31, 2008 deadline.

The November email was also silent on the subject of pay.  We have been in discussions with management and have made clear our view that the pay outlined in Section 30 paragraph C 4 applies to this training and we should be paid the required 4TFP minimum.  We have received via email management’s position on pay and they intend to pay $35.00 to each of us for completing the training.  AFA will be filing a grievance on our behalf in pursuit of the 4 TFP.

Thanks for your patience, I’m sure there will be more to be addressed on this and we will do so as we get more information.
