Greetings,

Security Training Pay – Grievance Granted!

In yet another victory for AFA and its members, Alaska Airlines today agreed to pay 4 trips for pay for the online security training required this past year.

According to Elizabeth Ryan, Manager of Labor Relations, Alaska will grant the grievance that AFA filed in December of 2008.  Flight Attendants who have completed the training will receive the difference between the $35 originally paid, and the 4 trips at their individual rate of pay.

“The language in our contract is so clear”, said Kelle Wells, MEC President, “that they really had no choice.”

Flight Attendants may expect to see the additional pay in their March 20th paychecks.
