Tell the Mayor: Stop Service Cuts and Layoffs
Call and E-Mail the Mayor Now!
Stop Service Cuts, Layoffs & Furloughs July 1st
After working together for over a year on a Recovery Plan for all of LA - business, families, public safety and city services - Mayor Villaraigosa has walked away.
Now he has plans to begin mandatory furloughs of up to 26 days on July 1st - a 10% service and wage cut. Furlough pay cuts slow down the economic recovery, decimate services, families and whole communities and are a band-aid, not a long-term budget solution.
The Mayor needs to stop attacking workers and return to working with us.
It's urgent that you contact the Mayor now. Get everyone you know to call, e-mail, fax and write the Mayor.

Subject: Stop the Layoffs, Come back to the table
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
Please come back to the table and negotiate a real Recovery Plan for Los Angeles - one that includes Early Retirements. Early retirements can help solve the city's budget crisis and they work for everybody: business, families, public safety and city services.
We want you to stop pushing layoffs, furloughs and wage cuts that will devastate services, families and whole communities. It's time to go back to a Recovery Plan based on early retirements. No more half measures and short-term band-aid solutions!
We will continue to rally and demonstrate at City Hall until our voices are heard! We are part of the solution, not the problem.
Sincerely,
|
