Sun-Sentinel Editorial Campaign

The sole purpose of the Sun-Sentinel Editorial Message Campaign is to ENCOURAGE (not discourage)  the newspaper's editors that the ongoing negotiations and impasse process deserves even more coverage than what they have provided.

We must not write anything to the editors that would potentially offend them or appear as a criticism... Please compliment and thank them for their quality newspaper and the coverage they have provided to date.

Just like all other news outlets, BTU members need the Sun-Sentinel's editors to make the contract negotiations and the impasse a high priority.

PLEASE WRITE A SHORT  MESSAGE TO THE SUN-SENTINEL'S EDITORS TODAY AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO INCREASE COVERAGE OF THE ONGOING CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS AND IMPASSE PROCESS.

NICELY ask the editors why when virtually EVERY (not just a few or some) news outlet in South Florida covered this past week's impasse hearing, the Sun-Sentinel provided NO coverage --  no brief, no photo, no article -- nothing?

No one can or should dictate to a newspaper what they must or have to write about, but it would be appropriate to ask when virtually ALL other news outlets -- newspapers, television and radio stations -- covered the impasse hearing (not just the protest), why they did not?

We "love" the Sun-Sentinel, and we want to read stories that matter to public schools, education professionals and our students. Thank them for their hardwork, but ask them for more coverage.

Again, we must write educated, diplomatic and kind messages. We must not offend or appear to criticize them.

We need their news coverage!
