CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS THIS WEEK! RSVP IN REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL / A LIMITED NUMBER OF STEWARDS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO AREA STEWARD MEETINGS ON THE SAME DAY. Please show your support for cutting waste and corruption, steps and salary increases and decreasing the 45% hike in dependent insurance costs by attending this week's contract negotiations session. The contract talks start at 2:30 p.m. and all employees are urged to arrive as soon as they get out of work up to the end of the talks around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 at the BTU office in Tamarac. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can arrange for the correct amount of seating, beverages and snacks. RSVP IN REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL.

Please send us the names and e-mail addresses of any strong and avid public schools and employees supporter (not a BTU member) who we could invite to future contract negotiations events such as rallies, marches and protests. If you know of a family member, friend or parent who lives in Broward, Palm Beach or Miami-Dade and really supports the issues that are important to you such as step and salarie increases, decreasing the 45% increase in dependent insurance coverage and ending district corruption and waste, please send us their name and e-mail address. PLEASE SEND THE NAMES AND E-MAIL ADDRESSES OF PUBLIC SCHOOL SUPPORTERS IN REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL.

UPCOMING PROSPECTIVE RETIREE WORKSHOP: The BTU Retirees Chapter is sponsoring a workshop for prospective retirees at 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3rd at the BTU office in Tamarac. CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS LIABILITY WORKSHOP: The BTU CHR Committee will sponsor a Teacher Liability with presenter, BTU Field Staff Representative Seven Feldman from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19 at the BTU Office in Tamarac. The class will provide new information and expanded details designed for classroom teachers, stewards have already received this training. Very light snacks and beverages will be provided.
