Attention All BTU Steward

[ This message was sent to all BTU stewards. It is a duplicate of the BTU Member Notes for November 2, 2009. Some stewards are reporting that they are still having trouble receiving messages -- especially ESP stewards. All BTU-EP (teachers) stewards are asked to share this message and the attachments with co-stewards and especially with the ESP stewards at your worksite.

NOTE: There is a correction to the Protest Pledge Sheet. Please use the pledge sheet attached to this message. All stewards are urged to forward this message via e-mail to members of each worksite's Parent Teacher Associations, other similar groups and parents who strongly support public school employees, family members and friends of public schools.

Thank you. ]

WORK TO THE RULE: Union leaders have declared Work to the Rule for all union members from Monday, November 9 to Wednesday, November 25. Stewards are encouraged to organize members for one or more Work to the Rule activities on one or more day during this time period. The basic guide for all members engaging in "Work to the Rule" is quite simple: Members should not volunteer for any non-paid activities, including after school functions and non-compensated committee meetings. Members can also pick and choose from the "Work to the Rule" Menu to decide how they will individually participate. The important point is for all members to take action by "Working to the Rule!"
