Dear Members:

I have very good news. This past Monday afternoon, the IATSE notified me that they have set early negotiation dates with the AMPTP for a successor to the 2006 Basic Agreement. These negotiations will begin Monday, April 7, 2008, and run through April 9, 2008, and will focus on wages, health, pension and Individual Account Plan benefits as well as a residual formula for new media. The current Basic Agreement expires August 2009. As per the International, no other issues from either side will be addressed.

I’m looking forward to these negotiations and I would like to thank all of you who attended the National Membership Meeting on Saturday, February 23, for making it a huge success.
