 Your MEC Supports BOS Based Flight Attendants

After doing Crew Sits in BOS and seeing the devastation of BOS Based Flight Attendants at the possibility that their base could close, the MEC has declared the following resolution in their support:

Resolution of the AFA American Eagle MEC

October 10, 2008

Whereas, on June 25, 2008 American Eagle management announced it would reduce the flight schedule in our BOS base and

Whereas, on July 14, 2008 American Eagle management further announced it would be closing BOS as a pilot base but would continue to have a Flight Attendant base at least through the first quarter of 2009 and

Whereas, forty-eight BOS based Flight Attendants were involuntarily displaced as a result of management’s decision to downsize the base and,

Whereas, the future existence of this base is still as yet uncertain

Therefore Be It Resolved, that the AFA American Eagle MEC pledges its full support and assistance to the BOS based Flight Attendants and

Therefore Be It Further Resolved, that the AFA MEC will meet with and confer with the Union Labor Coalition leaders on property and

Therefore Be It Further Resolved, that the AFA American Eagle Flight Attendants will stand in solidarity with our BOS based members and other labor groups to protest management’s actions and

Therefore Be It Finally Resolved, the AFA MEC will utilize our resources to their fullest measure when fighting to ensure that our BOS base remains open and viable.
