Section 6 Contract Negotiations Preparations

Dear Fellow Flight Attendants,

It is nearing that time again- Negotiations for a New Contract! Your MEC has been proactively at work. Our Negotiations Team is in place and they have completed Negotiations Training at the AFA-CWA Headquarters in D.C.

Here is a time-line of events scheduled before our first Negotiations Session:

·         The Team will work on the Negotiations Survey that will go out to you, the Membership January 26-30, 2009. The survey will contain questions for you to answer so the Negotiations Team will know what your priorities are in the New Contract.

·         At the MEC Meeting scheduled for February 16-20, 2009, the MEC will approve the Negotiations Survey

·         The approved survey will go out to the Membership the week of February 23, 2009. Members will have 6 weeks to fill the survey out and return it.

·         Work on the Contract Opener will begin March 2-6, 2009 with the location TBD (The Opener is our first proposal to the Company when beginning Contract 6 Negotiations)

·         The survey results will be completed during the first week of April 2009

·         Continue work on Opener April 6-10, 2009 in ORD

·         Continue work on Opener May 11-15, 2009 in DCA

·         Continue Work on Opener June 15-19, 2009 in ORD

·         First Section 6 Contract Negotiations with the Company on or after July 27, 2009
