Dear Boston Sisters and Brothers,

We were heartbroken when the company advised the MEC that they had made the final decision to close our domicile at Boston.  Boston is a significant part of Eagle history.  Some of our flight attendants have been with us for many years.  Many more became a part of the Eagle family after having flown for many years with Business Express Airlines.

For many of us, Boston alone represents the Eagle family when we shared good and bad times together.  We walked the picket lines together when fighting for a fair contract that represents the needs of our flight attendants, we cried together when American Airlines 11 took off from Boston on its fateful flight that will be remembered for generations to come.  We even endured the cold, hard floors of the airport together when disastrous weather presented us with no alternatives other than to sleep on the airport floors overnight.  When the Jet finally made it to Boston, and the last turbo prop finally departed. These, and many more, are the memories that will continue to live on long after the last Boston domicile-based flight departs from Beantown.

The closure of the Boston base presents us with the painful reality that many of our flight attendants will have to relocate to another base, give up the job they love and transfer to a new position at Boston where they are available, or leave the Eagle family altogether.  We realize that in some cases, transferring location or jobs may not be possible.  Please know that we are here to assist you in your time of need.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your AFA representatives for support.

In Solidarity,

Veronica Tenerelli
