AFA American Eagle MEC E-Bulletin

Greetings,

The American Eagle negotiations survey will be extended until June 12, 2009, and close at 12:00 noon central time due to technical difficulties that have been reported to the MEC at various bases.

The problems that we have identified are: the call in number was not working in SJU, and some of our flight attendants could not login to the on-line system with their user ID and pass word. The call-in number has been tested several times in SJU and is now fully operational. Additionally, the on-line problem was due to 40 AMR flight attendants not having birthdays on file with the International office. Since your birth date is needed as a temporary password, some could not login. Each of our LEC Presidents has the list of the 40 affected flight attendants and calls will be placed to each of them and they will be provided with an alternate temporary password to use the on-line system.

Due to these unforeseen problems, the MEC collectively decided to extend the deadline of the survey by 1 week.

We are happy to report that our completed number of surveys thus far is on target with the average number of surveys completed carrier-wide within AFA. However, your MEC would like to exceed the average. Your negotiations team will rely heavily on these surveys to benchmark many demographic areas of improvement you wish to see in this next contract. Please, take the time to fill out this important survey if you haven't so far to ensure you have a voice in the next contract opener.

In closing, should any of you have trouble with the system, please report this to your Local President as soon as possible.

In solidarity,

AFA Master Executive Council
