Greetings,
October 3, 2009
Dear American Eagle Flight
Attendant,
On September 22, 2009 your
LEC Scheduling representatives from all 6 bases and myself met
with American Eagle Schedule/Planning department. We listened to the
announcement that Eagle was purchasing 22 additional CRJ
aircraft and also the plan to move that fleet to ORD. I was also
discussed that the EMB aircraft would be repositioned as well.
It became apparent that this movement would have an impact on
all schedules since the addition of aircraft would not
necessarily be at the first of the month for all bases. What
this means to you: a long term increase of flying at your base,
however the month that the aircraft are repositioned to your
base a schedule change that will throw off the purity of the
lines at that base for that month.
The requests made at this meeting by you
AFA reps did result in improvements at your bases:
·
Bid-packets provisioned at the hubs from other bases for
those crews flying through.
·
LAX
will be undertaking a test to allow F/As to keep more of their
transitional flying.
·
DFW
will attempt to pair all Mexico flying together, when possible.
·
All
bases will have a definite number of part time lines made known
to the reps prior to the schedule build.
The changes ahead for 2010 will likely
result in more flying at most bases as determined by marketing.
We will continue to work with the Schedule Planning dept. to
ensure variety in the building of your schedules and purity
within your month.
In Solidarity:
