NSPS: Sick of it!
Please do not use your government e-mail when filling out this form.
The fate of NSPS could be decided in the next few weeks as House and Senate conferees come up with the final version of the 2010 Defense Authorization bill.
The House of Representatives got it right in its version of the 2010 Defense Authorization Bill. In the House’s version, representatives included language that calls for a repeal of NSPS and the transfer of DoD employees back to the GS within one year. The House version of the bill also bars the conversion of new employees hired after June 16, 2009 into NSPS. While this is a substantial victory, there is one problem: the Senate’s version of the bill only repeals the pay portion of NSPS, but then does a bait and switch that allows DoD to keep NSPS if the Defense secretary objects to the repeal and promises to make significant changes to ensure transparency and fairness. Because of this, we need you to CALL your senators and ask them to support full repeal of NSPS without giving the Defense Secretary veto power.

Subject: NSPS: End it Immediately and Permanently
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As a Department of Defense civilian employee and member of the American Federation of Government Employees, I urge you to ask Senator Levin, Chair of the Armed Services Committee, to repeal NSPS without giving the Secretary of Defense veto power over Congress's decision.
The impact of NSPS is unconscionable and should not be tolerated even one day longer. It's time to put an end to NSPS once and for all.
