AFGE is leading the fight
to contract IN jobs. You read that right. AFGE has its own job
creation plan and it’s focused on bringing currently
contracted out jobs back in-house. It’s time to play offense to protect
and create good federal employee jobs. It’s time for AFGE activists to get IN
gear to contract in federal employee jobs.

The first big step in
AFGE’s contracting in campaign is to get lawmakers to
support the CLEAN UP Act -- a bill that requires agencies to
identify which jobs have been contracted out and to come up with
a schedule to bring those jobs back in house. The CLEAN UP Act also
protects existing jobs by banning new A-76 (contracting out)
studies until major reforms are enacted government-wide. The
Clean Up Act was introduced in the Senate (S. 924) on April 21
by Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) and will soon be introduced
in the House by Representative John Sarbanes (D,
MD-3).
Thousands of AFGE activists
have contacted their lawmaker(s) to support the Clean Up
Act. If you
haven’t, please do so today.

AFGE activists successfully
fought back against the Bush administration’s plan to
contract out half of all federal employee jobs. Now it’s time to
move our fight to a totally new level. It’s time to bring back the jobs that
will help us fulfill the mission at each of our
agencies
