Greetings,

If we're going to clean up the waste, fraud and abuse in government contracting, we need you to take action today. Senator Robert Casey (D-PA) will offer an amendment to the FY10 National Defense Authorization Act that deserves your strong support.

The Casey amendment would: 1) suspend new A-76 studies; 2) cancel pending A-76 studies that were started during the previous administration if they are illegal or can’t be justified that jeopardize the jobs of hundreds and hundreds of AFGE members; 3) establish a clear and well-defined time limit for how long A-76 studies can last; and 4) improve GAO bid protests rights for all federal employees and require all agencies to provide briefings to affected federal employees about contracting out decisions.

But this legislation can't pass without the help of grassroots activists like you. We need you to send your Senators a fax and ask them to co-sponsor and support the Casey Amendment. The following Senators are already cosponsors: Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Charles Schumer (D-NY), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Patty Murray (D-WA), Edward Kennedy (D-MA), and Russell Feingold (D-WI).

The Casey Amendment to the FY10 NDAA will help to end the waste, fraud, and abuse in government contracting. Lawmakers need to hear from you. Protect your job and let your voice be heard.

In Solidarity,

John Gage, National President
