Override the Veto

President Bush vetoed the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) renewal bill despite the fact that it had overwhelming bipartisan support — and that it would mean healthcare for 4 million more American kids in need, including many thousands in your state. The override vote is scheduled for next week. It is going to be close, so every message matters! Send a message to your congress member. Tell Congress to vote YES to give health insurance to needy kids and override the Bush veto.

Subject: Override Bush's Veto

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I strongly urge you to support health insurance for children in need. I urge you to vote YES on overriding President Bush's veto of the SCHIP program.

Expanding SCHIP would give health insurance to four million children who need it -- including many thousands in our state.

Please put families first by voting to override the President's veto of SCHIP.

Sincerely,
