Stop the "Trigger" Plan
There's a new proposal floating around Washington, and it's awful!
The idea, embraced by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), among others, would create a "trigger", meaning a public health insurance option would only be created if private insurance can't handle the job and the health care crisis gets worse.
Contact your senators now and tell them to drop the "Trigger" plan!

Subject: Don't Support the "Trigger" Plan
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
A "trigger" proposal for the public health insurance option is unacceptable.
The health care crisis is here now. Every 30 seconds, someone in this country goes into bankruptcy because of medical debt. We can't afford to wait any longer for reform.
A public health insurance option will give me a choice, so I'm not left at the mercy of private insurance.
A public health insurance option will compete with private insurance to drive down costs and increase quality for everyone.
Therefore, I oppose and ask you to also oppose a "trigger" for the public health insurance plan.
Sincerely,
|
