Background Information

We fought hard in our contract negotiations to win a pay increase-an increase Gov. Bob Holden has honored in his recent budget proposal. Now, it is up the the Missouri Legislature to allocate the funding for these contract provisions. WE FOUGHT HARD FOR OUR CONTRACT, BUT THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER. On Wednesday, March 10th AFSCME will be sponsoring a lobby day at the State Capitol. Buses will leave Kansas City and St. Louis at 8:00 a.m. and will return at 5:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Our goal is to storm the capitol with as many members possible and talk to legislators about how important it is to fund our contracts.
