Greetings,

The state budget crisis is not over, more like postponed.  We need your help to move the process along before we once again come to the brink on October 31 when the extension runs out.

The PreK-12 Education Budget has passed both houses and was sent to the Governor to sign.  She has not signed it, and we don't want her to until the State Legislature fulfills their part of the bargain and finds the money to actually fund the budget.  The House and Senate promised they were going to get to that part later.  We need you to tell the Governor not to sign the bill until the Legislature raises the money.  Otherwise we will be looking at a much larger cut mid-way through this budget year.

The Higher Education Budget has passed both houses of the legislature, but the Senate will not send it to the Governor for her signature.  The Governor has said she will use her line-item veto to try and force changes to the cuts in financial aid.  We need you to send a letter to your Senator and Representative telling them to send the Higher Education Budget to the Governor.
