We Did It!Because of the messages you sent to the company and other mobilization actions, CWA negotiators reported a breakthrough this afternoon in talks with Verizon Wireless. The tentative agreement gives the "New York 50" the seniority rights governing layoffs and recalls that workers throughout the telecom industry enjoy, as well as a solid compensation package. "There's no question that it was our demonstrations at the Wireless stores last week and other actions that convinced management that we would all stand together with these 51 workers, and we weren't going away," said CWA President Morton Bahr.
