During the negotiations for the Flight Attendant merged contract, US Airways management has not agreed to 100% pay and credit for deadheading.

Please help send US Airways management a message that Flight Attendants must have 100% pay and credit for all deadheading.

Subject: 100% Pay and Credit for Deadheading

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Our AFA negotiations team has made it clear to management that 100% pay and credit for deadhead must be included in any merged agreement. I am very concerned that US Airways management has not agreed to this important proposal.

Flight Attendants at America West currently receive 100% deadhead pay and credit and have absolutely no intention of giving it up. Flight Attendants at US Airways received 100% pay and credit for years until it was stripped from the contract as part of the bankruptcy process. I am not willing to trade anything in either contract to keep 100% pay and credit for the West and restore it to the East.

My time is valuable, and any time spent deadheading is time spent on behalf of the Company. Time spent deadheading is time away from my home, my family and my personal life. We must be fully compensated for all time spent deadheading.

Please instruct your negotiations team to quit delaying and agree to 100% pay and credit immediately.

Sincerely,

Background Information

After several weeks and a number of proposals exchanged between your AFA Joint Negotiations Committee and company negotiators, US Airways continues to defer the discussion regarding full pay and credit for deadheading.

While the JNC is acting as One Voice at the table, it is vital that management knows that the East and West Flight Attendants are also speaking as One Voice through Solidarity activities. Proof of the successfulness of acting as One Voice is the recent implementation of the reciprocal cabin seat agreements with Southwest, Delta and soon other airlines.

Full Pay and Credit for Deadheading is now on the table and you need to make it clear to management that all flight attendants are speaking with ONE VOICE.
