When you report for a trip you are required to carry a current Inflight Emergency Manual (IEM).  Prior to report, please ensure that your manual is up-to-date.  In the unlikely and rare instance that you may realize that your manual is missing, prior to report, you may request a loaner manual from a supervisor at the Inflight Services Center.  

May Reserve Bid Lines

Since the May bid was published, the AFA 66 office, as well as the Reserve Committee have received numerous emails and phone calls from Flight Attendants complaining about the May Reserve lines.  AFA reviewed the construction of the Reserve lines to determine the reasons behind the lack of cadence with weekends off.

The month of May 2009 is one of the few bid periods that contain five (5) full weekends.  A typical month contains only four (4) full weekends. Consequently, the typical number of Days Off (DOs) and Golden Days (GDs) must equal 12. These DOs and GDs now have to be spread out over five weekends instead of four.  This affected the cadence of the Reserve weekends and AFA understands that this is disappointing to some. 

AFA will continue to work with the Company on the construction of monthly bids.  If you would like to offer your input to the Reserve Committee, please do so by emailing your suggestions to reserves@afa66.org 

Reserves Who Auto – Please Note!

As an FYI, please remember to call Timekeeping if you are a Reserve Flight Attendant who is AUTO’ing on a GD, DO or Vacation. The Maestro program automatically deducts 3.53 credits for each auto regardless of whether the AUTO is for an RV day or a day off.  The correction to the base guarantee must be made manually.

If you Auto contact Timekeeping at (480) 693-1909 or 1927 to ensure that these days are being accurately  calculated to the base guarantee for the month.
