Important
Information For Any Flight Attendant Who Have Taken
VLOA's
If you are a flight attendant whose longevity time would have
resulted in a pay increase during your VLOA, you may not have
received your pay increase. This error is a result of the
employment status codes used by US Airways for Flight Attendants
on VLOA.
Your union representatives are working with the company to
identify any Flight Attendants impacted and to assure that the
correct employment status codes are being utilized.
Please contact your union if you were on VLOA and did not
receive your pay increase, or if you have any questions
concerning this matter.

Chair A la Carte Snack Sales Begin June
1st
Beginning June 1, 2009, US Airways will begin offering A la
Carte Snacks for sale ranging from $3 to $5 on all flights,
except Transatlantic, Shuttle and US Airways Express. There will
be various types of snacks for purchase from oatmeal to cookies
and potato chips.
The A la Carte Snacks will be loaded into the handheld
devises onboard, however, a revised ORR will also be provided if
necessary. A la Carte Snacks will be provisioned in Phoenix and
other bases and will be provisioned in the top two drawer
positions of the cart used for storage of the Power-Nap Sack, on
most aircraft. Passenger menus will be provided in each seat
back pocket.
The Company will be providing additional information
regarding the A La Carte Snack sales.

Contractual
Language for Boarding Times
AFA members have notified the office that the Company’s
policy of having only one gate agent boarding most flights has
resulted in gate agents asking flight attendants to board early.
AFA wishes to remind flight attendants to adhere to all
contractual guidelines set forth in the contract in Section 5.C,
5 Hours of Service, Requirements for system-wide scheduled
departures.
AFA Council 66 Golf Outing
Fundraiser
AFA Council 66 is hosting a golf fundraiser on July 18th at
Sunland Village Golf Course in Mesa, in an effort to raise money
to help our fellow Flight Attendants who are experiencing
financial troubles during our nation's economic crisis. Raising
money for "The Pantry of Love" food bank and setting up a fund
for those in need are two ways we can lend a helping hand to our
flying brothers and sisters.
The golf fundraiser will take place on Saturday, July
18th. Check-in is a 9am and the shotgun start is at 10am.
There will be free range balls, a scramble, long drive, straight
drive, closest to the pin, and long putt contests.A beverage
cart will be available so everyone can stay hydrated in the
Summer heat.
The entry fee is $40 per person. Entry fee includes the
greens fee, cart, and lunch. There will be 4 person teams. You
can sign up as a group of 4 or as individuals. If you don't have
a group of 4, the course will make the teams. Prizes will also
be given away at the end of the game.
See the flyer below for details and sign-up information. You
can call the Sunland Village Golf Course in Mesa at (480)
832-3691 or call or email the AFA66 office to sign up. The AFA66
phone number is (480) 966-1231 and our e-mail is membership@afa66.org.
Come out for the cause and help make a small but significant
difference in the life of a fellow Flight Attendant.
