How Are You Helping to Elect Barack Obama?

In Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, ATU Volunteers from Local 268 staffed the Labor 2008 phone banks to call union retirees and ask them to support Barack Obama and Joe Biden for U.S. President and Vice President.

Later that day, in Toledo, Ohio, ATU Local 697 President Cynthia Betz and Business Agent Ed Dustman stood in the cold and rain on Monday to talk to their fellow members as they were leaving work.  The local officers handed out leaflets to the members asking them to volunteer for the Get Out the Vote efforts.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, Local 998 officers and volunteers visited bus garages and driver break rooms in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to encourage their union Brothers and Sisters to support Barack Obama on November 4th.

On Tuesday, Local 1733 President/Business Agent Pennie Johnson drove from Illinois to help with the campaign efforts in Milwaukee, WI.

What are you doing to ensure that working families see a victory on November 4th?

Let us know.  Send a email to atuaction@atu.org and tell us about your volunteer activities.

If you haven't volunteered yet, its not too late!  There are plenty of volunteer opportunities in almost every state in the next seven days.  Contact your local union officers to find out how you can help.
