The short explanation of this alert was:
The labor movement must mobilize it's union members as well as other American workers who support our causes. Last week when President Barack Obama was sworn into office as the 44th President the clock started ticking on labor. The clock is ticking for labor to get pro-worker legislation passed in Washington which had been unattainable in the previous 8 years of the Bush administration.

In the near future legislation such as the Employee Free Choice Act will be debated and we need to ensure that our collective voices are part of the discussion. This e-mail is a plea for all members of IBEW Fights Back to get as many of your fellow union members, families and friends signed up to this E- Activist group.

We need to be growing our ranks now before legislation such as the EFCA comes up for a vote. We in labor must not waste this opportunity to help out all American workers, so while I thank all of you for signing up for IBEW Fights Back we need your help to grow our group. Please take just a minute to refer this website to as many people as you can so we can have a positive impact during these crucial days that are ahead. They must hear all of our voices so that they know we in labor are a force to be reckoned with.
