As it currently stands, it is nearly impossible for American workers to democratically form unions.  They are faced with some of the most regressive labor laws in the Western Hemisphere and their inability to form and join labor unions absent employer intimidation is at the center of this dismal circumstance. The Employee Free Choice Act will fix this by giving workers a real ability to determine whether or not they want to form a union at their workplaces without employer interference or intimidation.
