The short explanation of this alert was:
Last month DPR Interim Director Ximena Hartsock defied City Council legislation and closed the doors to 13 childcare centers, putting hundreds of kids on the street, 160 union workers out of work and destroying the city’s high-quality, badly-needed child care services. Because of you, City Councilmembers restored funding to the daycare program, and are currently exploring the possibility of initiating a lawsuit against the Executive for defying the law and refused to confirm Dr Ximena Hartock. Please thank them for taking action and urge them to continue to hold the Mayor to account.
