On June 16, 2009, thanks to the leadership of Representatives Ike Skelton (D-MO), Jim Langevin (D-RI), and Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), and members of the House Armed Services Committee, the reality of reforming the unfair and costly A-76 (contracting out) process and getting rid of NSPS is one step closer to happening. While these are huge victories for AFGE members, these amendments must be approved by the entire House of Representatives and then the United States Senate. These lawmakers who supported these reforms deserved to be thanked for their tireless work on behalf of government employees.
