Tell Congress: Stand with Working Americans!

Late Tuesday night Democratic congressional leaders and the White House reached agreement on legislation to provide emergency bridge loans to the domestic automakers. This legislation will provide $15 billion in loans to enable the companies to continue operations through the end of March. The legislation includes tough accountability provisions, including limits on executive compensation and an equity stake in the companies to protect taxpayers.  It also requires the automakers to develop and implement restructuring plans to ensure their long-term viability.

It now appears that the House could vote on this bipartisan auto rescue package as early as today, with Senate action following in the near future.

Please contact your Representative today!  Urge them to vote for the bipartisan legislation to provide emergency bridge loans to the domestic auto companies. Tell them this legislation is essential to prevent the collapse of the companies and the devastating consequences that would follow for millions of workers and retirees, and for the entire economy of our nation.
