Thank Cadbury for its Fair Trade Commitment!

Cadbury recently announced plans to achieve Fair Trade certification for Cadbury Dairy Milk, the top selling chocolate bar in England, by the end of summer 2009. Additionally, Cadbury has also committed to bringing Fair Trade certified Dairy Milk bars to Canada, New Zealand and Australia by early 2010.   Cadbury is the first major chocolate company to go Fair Trade with one of its main product lines and this change will be a big step forward in improving the lives and working conditions for cocoa farmers in Ghana.  For years, ILRF has been demanding that major companies make a commitment to Fair Trade.

Cadbury's Fair Trade bars will only be available in England and Ireland.  Here in the US, Hershey owns the license to produce Cadbury chocolate.  Please join us in thanking Cadbury for its support for Fair Trade and encouraging Cadbury and Hershey to extend Fair Trade to the US market!
