Tell CVS to Use Local Labor

CVS/pharmacy was recently granted $4.75 million of New York State tax dollars and incentives to build a massive distribution center in Chemung. Although hard working New Yorkers have helped to fund the project, CVS has hired out-of-state contractors and workers to build the facility. Workers from over 600 miles away are coming to Chemung to take jobs away from local laborers. In addition, CVS is paying these workers sub-standard wages. If local tax payers are paying for the warehouse, they deserve to be able to build it and to earn area standard wages and benefits for their work. New York State taxes should create New York State jobs! Tell me more

Talking Points

Working families across New York State want CVS/pharmacy to know that the building of their new distribution center is hurting workers in Chemung County. Tax payers are helping to fund their new 750,000 square foot facility, but are not yet seeing the benefits from their contribution. Hiring contractors and workers from out-of-state is allowing CVS to avoid paying area standard wages and benefits. New York State taxes should create well paying and safe New York State jobs.
