I'm a hardworking American and proud AFSCME member, and I urge you to support real health care reform that includes a public plan option and does not tax benefits.

Working families are suffering as health care costs skyrocket and put a strain on the entire economy.

An AFSCME member in Washington has cancer but is forced to risk worsening her condition by continuing to work because she'll lose her benefits if she doesn't -- we need a public option.

Another member in Ohio was forced to file Chapter 13 because she lost her job and couldn't keep up with the rising costs --the middle class can't afford to have their benefits taxed.

And an AFSCME nurse in California is facing a 14+% percent pay cut, while her co-workers are being laid off, because the exorbitant costs of our current system are straining the entire economy -- fixing the economy means fixing health care.

That's what it's like for working families in our towns and communities -- and it shouldn't be that way.  Please support real health care reform that includes a public option and doesn't harm the middle class.
