The short explanation of this alert was:

By May 15, millions of America's seniors and disabled will have to decide whether or not to enroll in President Bush's Medicare Part D prescription drug program, or face paying a minimum of 7% in premium penalties for their medications—for the rest of their lives. 

Send the message below to demand that Congress extend the Medicare Part D sign-up deadline and fix the Medicare prescription drug program so that it works for America's seniors, disabled and taxpayers—not the big pharmaceutical and health insurance companies.
