Fairness at General Motors
Debra Turner started working at GM in the late '70s, when she was 19. Eleven years ago, Debra was diagnosed with MS. Since then, she's had to stop working, and soon her husband is going to retire from GM. Together they've given the company many years of hard work.
But now Debra's good health benefits are at risk thanks to GM's bailout deal with the government. The U.S. Treasury has decided that it isn't "commercially necessary" for GM to honor its contractual benefits for more than 50,000 retirees and their dependents.
Send a letter to the White House asking President Obama to tell the Treasury that they cannot sacrifice the health care benefits of 50,000 GM retirees:
