The short explanation of this alert was:

Right now, nine out of 10 people who have health insurance get their coverage through their employer. Employer-based plans offer coverage to more than 172 million workers, retirees and their families. That means that employers control most of the private health insurance market.

Big business interests in America like the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Business Roundtable and Financial Services Roundtable should help find a solution to skyrocketing health care costs.

But these big business interests support plans that push working families into high-deductible plans and health savings accounts (HSAs) with higher out-of-pocket costs. These "pay more/ get less" plans shift the cost of health care onto individuals and families—and don't find a real solution to the high cost of health care.

Tell big business interests to stop blocking meaningful health care reform. E-mail now.
