The short explanation of this alert was:

"I believe that we are at our best when the men and women of The McGraw-Hill Companies work and thrive in a dynamic environment where inclusion is encouraged, differences are respected, and diversity is of paramount importance."

Harold McGraw III
Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer

The McGraw-Hill Companies drives the financial services, education and business information markets through brands such as Standard & Poor's, BusinessWeek, McGraw-Hill Education and McGraw-Hill Broadcasting. Sales in 2005 reached $6 billion.

McGraw-Hill pledges to treat all employees with dignity and respect, except for the NABET-CWA-represented workforce at KGTV Channel 10 in San Diego, California. After a 53-year history of mutual success, McGraw-Hill Broadcasting now wants to eliminate jobs, convert union jobs to non-union jobs and refuses to negotiate over the issue.

Throughout negotiations, McGraw-Hill Broadcasting has issued memos to the staff designed to turn non-union employees against union employees. They told union employees that they no longer need a union and then fired the Local President – a 25-year employee.

Please add your own comments to our sample letter below, then fill out your name and address information to tell Chairman of the Board Harold McGraw and Broadcasting President Edward Quinn to treat all their employees with dignity and respect and to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair contract.
