The short explanation of this alert was:

Last February, Maremont CEO Ken Banks tried to institute a wage freeze and an increase in health care premiums for the company’s workers.

The workers were forced to strike because the move would have meant a 70-cent an hour pay cut. Banks soon brought in strikebreakers to replace the plant’s skilled and experienced workers.
