Skagit Public Health - Welcome Home Baby

Due to recent budget cuts, the Skagit County WELCOME BABY PROGRAM, which is currently staffed by one employee, will be eliminated unless the Skagit County Commissioners make the program a priority during this budget cycle.

The WELCOME BABY PROGRAM serves roughly 4800, low income, Skagit County families a year. Without this program the health of our children, our families and our community is in jeopardy. Please let the Skagit County Commissioners know that this program is a priority for you and your family by taking this quick action.

Talking Points

Approximately 62% percent of the roughly 1600 children born in Skagit County each year are low-income children who are eligible for Medicaid. The one existing staff running the Welcome Baby Program serves 4800 families a year by provided resources for children birth to three years of age and their families.
