Subject: There's a Better Choice for New York's Economy!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am writing to express my concern about your proposed state budget cuts. Your budget makes the wrong choices by making drastic cuts in education meaning higher property taxes while slashing nearly $2 billion from health care, closing emergency rooms and nursing homes.

There's a Better Choice for New York's economy. The Better Choice plan calls for protecting education, preserving quality health care and easing the burden on working families!

As a concerned New Yorker, I urge you to restore the devastating cuts in education and health care and fight to:

1. Make Smart Revenue Choices that close the budget shortfall without hurting New Yorkers.

2. Preserve the Promise of New York by protecting our important priorities for the future of New York State, including quality education, affordable higher education, and access to decent health care.

3. Share the Burden by closing corporate loopholes and asking the wealthy to pay a little more. I support temporarily raising the state personal income tax rate by seven tenths of 1% on those incomes of more than $100,000 and by 1.4% on incomes of more than $200,000 to increase state revenue by $2.7 to $3 billion dollars.

New York will be stronger if we all share the burden.

I look forward to hearing your reply. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
