Librarians Need Your Help!

Librarians for Hamilton County Public Libraries voted in January 2006 to form a union and have been negotiating since April 2006. On January 5th, the Fact-Finder report was delivered and the resulting contract was approved by the membership 49-1. The Library Board voted 7-0 to reject the contract solely based on their disapproval of fair share.

Subject: Hamilton County Public Librarians Need Your Help!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Hamilton County Public Librarians voted over a year ago to form a union and have been in negotiations since April 2006. The Library Board has rejected 7-0 the contract that resulted from the Fact-Finder report, while the membership overwhelming approved it 49-1. This is a strong message!

I, the undersigned, fully support the librarians of the Hamilton County Public Libraries and their efforts to establish a union to protect and ensure their rights as working men and women. I urge the Library Board to approve the proposed contract that was rejected on January 5, 2007.
