Save Hazardous Duty Workers Compensation
Governor Rell proposed getting rid of hazardous duty workers compensation for all state employees.
Please email Governor Rell and your state legislators and tell them not to eliminate hazardous duty workers compensation for state police officers, protective services officers, correction employees and employees working at state institutions where workers are liable to get assaulted.

Governor Rell has proposed getting rid of hazardous duty workers compensation for all state employees. Public servants, who are eligible for hazardous duty, can only receive it if they are put out of work through a "line of duty" injury - which means an injury resulting from an assault by a person that they have custodial control over, are attempting to take into custody or are responding to an emergency.
Please oppose Governor Rell's attempt to eliminate hazardous duty workers compensation for state police officers, protective services officers, correction employees and employees working at state institutions where workers are liable to get assaulted.
Hazardous duty workers compensation is simply an attempt to make whole workers who have been injured while risking their lives to keep our state's citizens safe.
