Subject: Please override Governor Rell's veto
Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],
I urge you to support a special session to override Governor Rell's recent veto of the "budget implementation bill".
Governor Rell's veto will result in the closing of three courthouses. All three are in communities that are economically challenged. Such closings will no doubt cause indigent offenders to miss court dates on minor offenses because they lack transportation. This will turn minor offenses into felonies, further clogging an already overloaded court system and wasting taxpayer money.
Also, this veto will result in Governor Rell being able to close 17 state group homes for citizens with mental retardation and other serious conditions. These group homes have served as the only homes that many of these vulnerable citizens have ever known. It is an unconscionable action.
You can prevent these severe actions by voting to override Governor Rell's veto.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
