Working New Yorkers have been hit hard by the economic crisis. Governor Paterson's ill-conceived plan to lay off 9,000 working New Yorkers is plain wrong. It is bad policy to lay people off who are providing for their families health, wealth and well-being. The average state worker earns $40,000 a year. Slashing the middle-class is not a solution - this shows how out of touch the governor has become with Main Street New York.
We implore you to stand against the governor's catastrophic plan to attack working New Yorkers. Tell the governor to ask those who can afford it to pay a little more. MASS LAYOFFS ARE NOT THE SOLUTION! STOP THE LAYOFFS and KEEP NEW YORKERS WORKING!
