The Benefits of Union Membership for Women Workers

  A new CEPR study, "Unions and Upward Mobility for Women Workers," documents wage and benefit gains for women workers in unions. The report highlights the fact that, for women, union membership increases the likelihood of having employee-sponsored health insurance and a pension as much as having a four-year college degree.

Prices Must Return to Trend Levels in Housing Market

As the housing sector continues to contract and some policy makers call for propping up house prices at or near current levels, "The Key to Stabilizing House Prices: Bring Them Down," a new CEPR report, points out that rapidly returning prices back to trend levels is the best way to bring stability back to the housing market.
