The legislature must end their budget stalemate in Springfield.  Send the Governor, your senator, and representative a letter demanding that they put their egos aside and reach an agreement. The attached letter can be edited and faxed or printed and mailed to your legislators.

Sample Letter for Campaign

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

The current legislative impasse over the budget is totally unacceptable. Legislators must agree now on a budget that will provide education with the money it needs through an increase in income tax with a provision that contains property tax relief. Doing nothing now is destructive not only to education, but to the citizens of Illinois who are all affected by your inability to come to a satisfactory agreement.

We urge you to pass a budget that includes sufficient new state revenues that will give Illinois schools true funding reform.
