Dear Verizon Retirement Watch Activist,
Time is running out...
There are only two days left until June 30, when
Verizon's proposed pension freeze for salaried workers takes
effect. It may be summer, but Verizon employees will be left out
in the cold if this freeze is put into place.
Since the beginning of May, hundreds of people have sent
letters to CEO Ivan Seidenberg, asking him to Stop the Freeze.
If you haven't already, click here to tell him
how this freeze will affect you and your family. If you have
already written to him, write him a personal note at ivan.g.seidenberg@verizon.com if
you didn't get a response the first time or if his response was
not satisfactory.
Tell your co-workers about this letter-writing campaign and
ask them to visit http://www.verizonretirementwatch.com/stopthefreeze to
participate. Verizon workers who belong to a union and friends
and family who don't even work for Verizon are also welcome to
write to Ivan, expressing their anger at Verizon's broken
pension promises.
This fight won't be over on the 30th. Other corporations have
followed Verizon's bad example, and the Pension Rights Center
and the Communication Workers of America want to stop companies
from breaking their pension promises. We'll keep you updated on
our plans for future activities to protect employee pensions and
we hope you will stay in this fight.
Don't let Verizon hang up on YOUR retirement security!
