Deadline Set for Sunday Midnight

No
contract No peaceThe deadline for negotiations is midnight on Sunday, August 10. As of 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, our current contracts will expire.

Verizon must stop dragging its feet. We chose to stop the clock last Saturday night because we were making good progress in negotiations on our critical issues. That progress has become slower and slower as the company drags its feet. Negotiations are continuing at this time. Among the critical issues: permanent, quality jobs at Verizon and other job issues, health care and retirement security, a fair wage settlement and others.

Dozens of "Ready to Walk" rallies happened before work this morning and thousands more members will rally at noon today at worksites.  Bigger rallies will happen in larger cities, including:

  • Philadelphia Center City
  • Harrisburg
  • Pittsburgh
  • Megacenter at Robinson Township, PA
  • Greensburg, PA
  • Wilmington, DE
  • Newark, NJ
  • Hamilton Township, NJ
