UNION CITY!
Save Services for DC Mental Health Patients!

DC Mayor Adrian Fenty is at it again. After firing hundreds of workers and contracting out services at DC public schools, Mayor Fenty is now setting his sights on unilaterally privatizing hundreds of jobs at the DC Department of Mental Health Community Services Agency. This action would create a crisis for nearly 12,000 mental health patients, their families, and the Washington, DC communities in which they live and work, while displacing hard-working, qualified DC Government workers.  Mayor Fenty's attacks on workers and DC residents must stop. Tell DC City Councilmembers to pass emergency legislation to stop the Mayor's attempts to privatize public services at the DC Department of Mental Health.

Subject: Save Services for DC Mental Health Patients!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am writing you to ask you to support emergency legislation - being introduced tomorrow - to stop the privatization of hundreds of jobs at the DC Department of Mental Health Community Services Agency. This action threatens to create a crisis for nearly 12,000 mental health patients, their families, mental health workers and the Washington communities in which they live and work.

Please support passage of emergency legislation to save these vital public services and make sure any attempts to contract out services are done with public input and review by the City Council. I look forward to hearing from you on this urgent issue.

Sincerely,
